Canvas (QTI)

Canvas-ready quizzes via QTI

Generate an assessment in SayaLab, review the evidence on each question, then export a QTI 1.2 package you import into Canvas as a quiz. The questions, options, and answer key travel with the file.

Pro-tier export

How it works

From source material to your LMS.

QTI export is a Pro-tier feature. SayaLab produces a QTI 1.2 package, an IMS Common Cartridge-compatible ZIP, which Canvas reads through its standard course or quiz import.

  1. 01Generate the assessment Upload your material, set the objectives and Bloom's levels you want, and let SayaLab generate the questions.
  2. 02Review the evidence Each question reaches you with its verified Bloom's level, objective alignment, distractor plausibility, and source grounding, so review means confirming, not catching.
  3. 03Export the QTI package Choose QTI as the export target and download the ZIP. It contains the manifest and one item file per question, formatted to the QTI 1.2 schema.
  4. 04Import into Canvas In your Canvas course, use Import Course Content and select the QTI .zip. Canvas creates a quiz from the package, which you can review and publish.
What carries over

Your questions arrive intact.

The export carries the parts of each question you reviewed, so what you validated in SayaLab is what your learners see.

  • Question text and optionsevery question stem, with multiple-choice and true or false options as single-select responses.
  • The answer keywhen you include answer keys, each question carries its correct response and a full-credit score condition.
  • Distractorsthe wrong answers you validated travel with each multiple-choice question, in order.
  • Explanations as feedbackwhen you include explanations, they are written as item feedback tied to the correct response.
  • Bloom's level metadatawhen you include Bloom metadata, each item carries its verified Bloom's level as a QTI metadata field.

Short-answer and essay questions are exported as text-entry items; essays are never auto-graded. QTI 1.2 support varies slightly across LMSs, so some fields, such as Bloom metadata, may be read differently depending on the importer.
